Bellissimo Rolex Oyster del 1928.
La cassa cushion misura 32 mm con anse di 18 mm e presenta corona Oyster Patent.
Il fondello interno è firmato Rolex, 20 World’s Records, RWCLtd. (Rolex Watch Company Limited) e numerata.
Il movimento a carica manuale di alta qualità è firmato Rolex, Ultra Prima, svizzero, numerato, con 15 rubini.
ll quadrante champagne è dotato di indici applicati in oro con secondi sussidiari e lancette a lancia in oro.
Il quadrante è firmato Rolex Oyster alle 12 e Swiss alle 6.
Dopo la fine della Prima Guerra Mondiale, il commercio mondiale riprese e gli orologi Rolex furono inviati all’estero, in particolare nei paesi tropicali caldi e umidi dell’Impero Britannico.
Molti degli orologi furono trovati arrugginiti all’arrivo dopo un lungo viaggio umido!
Hans Wilsdorf (cofondatore di Rolex) era determinato a produrre un orologio “impermeabile” e fu così che pochi anni dopo fu prodotto il Rolex Oyster, nel 1926, con una cassa “a tre corpi” (il fronte e il retro si avvitano alla carrure).
Un design iconico che divenne probabilmente l’orologio da polso impermeabile più venduto.

Cushion case measures 32 mm with 18 mm lugs and features Oyster Patent crown.
The inner case back is signed Rolex, 20 World’s Records, RWCLtd. (Rolex Watch Company Limited) and numbered.
The high-quality hand-wound movement is signed Rolex, Ultra Prima, Swiss, numbered, with 15 jewels.
The champagne dial has gold applied hour markers with subsidiary seconds and gold lance hands. Following the end of World War I, global trading resumed and Rolex watches were being sent abroad, particularly to the the hot and humid tropical countries of the British Empire. Many of the watches were found to have rusted on arrival following a long damp voyage!
Hans Wilsdorf (co-founder of Rolex) was determined to produce a ‘water-proof’ watch and so it was that the Rolex Oyster was produced a few years later in 1926 with a ‘three-piece’ case, (the front and back screwing into the body).
An iconic design that has become probably the best selling waterproof wristwatch!
