Introduced at the Basel Fair in 1950 and produced until 1953, the Rolex 6062 is a triple calendar with moon phases in a 36 mm Oyster case. It is a strange, beautiful combination of rugged elegance, born in the early 1950s shortly after Rolex had introduced the Datejust and was experimenting with complications. We did not see a Rolex Moonphase again until the introduction of the Cellini Moonphase in 2017.
Even with the highest estimate, the total production of ref. 6062 in all metals, yellow gold, rose gold and steel, is less than 1,000 pieces.
Ref. 6062 is driven by the Rolex automatic caliber 655 developed especially for this watch, also called Super Balance 9.75.
