La “24 Ore di Daytona” è una delle competizioni automobilistiche più impegnative al mondo. Ogni anno, squadre di piloti di fama mondiale si recano a Daytona Beach, in Florida, per partecipare alla gara di resistenza di 24 ore. La “24 Ore di Daytona” fu inaugurata negli anni ’60, quando la mitica gara esisteva già sulle spiagge della città dal 1903. Ma fu solo nel 1991 che Rolex divenne lo sponsor ufficiale della gara.
La manifattura decise di offrire ai membri della squadra vincitrice un orologio da polso Daytona con inciso il loro nome e la data della vittoria. Questo orologio rappresenta due simboli molto importanti nella storia di Rolex: il motorsport e il marchio Daytona, che ha preso il posto del nome precedente: Cosmograph.

The “24 Hours of Daytona” car race is one of the most challenging car competitions in the world. Each year, teams of world-class drivers travel to Daytona Beach, Florida to participate in the 24-hours endurance race.
The “24 Hours of Daytona” were inaugurated in the 1960s when the mythical race had already existed on the city’s beaches since 1903. But it was only in 1991 that Rolex became the official sponsor of the race. The manufacturer decided to offer to the members of the winning team a Daytona wristwatch engraved with their names and the date of victory. This watch represents two very important symbols in the history of Rolex: motorsport and the Daytona brand name which took over from its previous name: the Cosmograph. Accompanied by its original warranty and documentation, this watch represents Rolex’s unwavering support for motorsports and its commitment to the racing industry.
