The production of ref. 3700 was divided into two main series: the early examples (1976-1982) with ref. 3700/1, and the later examples, from 1982 to 1990, with ref. 3700/11.
Early examples of the model featured a slightly wider bracelet, measuring 16 mm.
This beautiful 1981 example bears the "Type 7" dial, characterized by the dots before and after the sigma at 6 o'clock, the taller and slimmer "Patek Philippe Genève" lettering, the K legs not converging at the same point, the detached "Genève" accent, and the much more rounded S for "Swiss" than all other types.
Type 7 dials were very prone to toning, in fact this specimen tends to beautiful petrol green.
